Here are some common questions about solar energy and our services. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, please feel free to contact us!

General Solar Questions

Solar energy is power generated from sunlight. Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then converts this DC electricity into alternating current (AC) electricity, which is what your home or business uses.

Key benefits include significant reduction in electricity bills, increased property value, reduced carbon footprint, energy independence, and eligibility for various government incentives.

Most properties are suitable! Ideal conditions include a roof with sufficient unshaded space, facing south (in the Northern Hemisphere) or north (in the Southern Hemisphere). We offer a free site assessment to determine your property’s solar potential.

Installation Process Questions

After all permits are secured, a typical residential solar installation can take anywhere from 1 to 3 days, depending on the system size and complexity. The entire process from initial consultation to activation usually takes 4-8 weeks.

Yes, solar installations require permits from local authorities. Our team handles all the necessary paperwork and permitting processes on your behalf, making it a hassle-free experience for you.

When installed by certified professionals, solar panels do not damage your roof. Our installation techniques ensure the integrity of your roof, and we often provide warranties on our workmanship.

Cost & Savings Questions

The cost varies widely based on system size, panel type, installation complexity, and local market rates. However, with incentives and long-term savings, solar is a sound investment. Get a free quote for a personalized estimate!

Net metering is a billing mechanism that credits solar energy system owners for the electricity they add to the grid. If your panels produce more electricity than you consume, the excess is sent to the grid, and you receive credits on your bill.

Yes, we partner with several financial institutions to offer various financing solutions, including solar loans, leases, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), to make solar accessible for every budget.

Maintenance & Warranty Questions

Solar panels require very little maintenance. Occasional cleaning (1-2 times a year) to remove dirt or debris is usually sufficient. We also offer maintenance plans for optimal performance.

Solar systems typically come with multiple warranties: a performance warranty (25-30 years) guaranteeing power output, an equipment warranty (10-12 years) on panels and inverters, and our workmanship warranty (usually 10 years) on the installation itself.

Technology Questions

On-grid (grid-tied) systems are connected to the utility grid, allowing you to draw power from or send excess power to the grid. Off-grid systems are completely independent, relying on battery storage for power when the sun isn’t shining.

For safety reasons, most on-grid systems automatically shut down during a power outage to prevent back-feeding electricity into the grid while utility workers are performing repairs. If you need power during outages, a battery backup system is required.
